After thorough testing by top PPG pilots, UK’s company ‘Active Flight Systems’ have released their 4-in-1 flight computer Quest XC for Paramotors, Paraplane and Microlight pilots. This exciting new instrument designed by paramotor pilots is “a new breed of flexible Intelligent Flight Planning and Monitoring Equipment” offering the answer to most questions you might have during your flights. The Quest XC combines in a single unit a Fuel & Engine Monitor; Vario & Altimeter; Flight Computer & Planner; and a Data Logger. Apart from being an Altimeter / Vario you can use in free flight, it also monitors your engine temperature, Revs., engine hours, fuel quantity, how long the fuel will last, the wind direction and strength, your air speed, how long it will take you to get back to your start point (in today's wind) and if you have enough fuel to get there. The Quest XC is also equipped with alarms “on just about everything!”, according to the manufacturer, and logs all data every second so that you can re review it post flight on a special free program for Flight Analysis.
Paul Hallat, from Active Flight Systems explains: “For me it is all about Quest XC knowing what is going on and warning me so that I don't have to worry. It tells me if something is wrong, too

/ too cold, not enough fuel / need to turn back, which way to land, how far I can go before turning round, etc. We made Quest! XC to simplify our life and take the stress and worry away so that we can enjoy the flying more. Kind of "Quest! XC knows so you don't have to" sort of thing.”
The flight computer is a big

for competition and cross country pilots, as it can calculate the best navigation plan to a certain point according to the expected wind strength and direction, and also how long and how much fuel it might take you. If you connect a GPS unit, then you’ll have almost all the necessary info to fly to any place.
Quest XC comprises a display unit, no bigger than a standard altimeter/vario instrument, attached to a sensor box by only one wire. Without the sensor box attached it can also be used as a top of the range Alti/Vario for free flying, with GPS connectivity and post flight PC analysis. The Quest! XC is designed for beginner, intermediate and competitive pilots alike.
