Hanggliding Crashההסבר של ריאן :
Ryan Voight I think the trouble started before the wingtip strike...
If we were going to pick out one thing where he went wrong (keeping in mind usually accidents have many contributing factors), I'd say it's at about 1:20 in the video.
He's in a left turn, getting slower as he approaches the ground. He inputs for a right turn, but also pushes out in that same move. This is a common mistake I see in newer pilots. Pushing out raises the nose... And when in a bank that means it increases your rate of direction change.
Also, going slow in a turn like that and pushing out is how to do a spin, by stalling that inside wing. In doing spins we also high-side to keep the outer wing loaded and flying. To enter a spin, it can also be helpful to give a quick input to the high side, because the adverse yaw that accompanies that will

get the glider yawing into the spin (in this case the right input yaws the nose left just as the left wing is stalling already).
A spin is defined as when the yaw rate is faster than that of a coordinated turn at the same given bank angle... So when he pushes out and inputs right and the glider changes direction quickly left, he's already in trouble well before the wingtip snags and he cartwheels.
The whole thing would have been prevented if he had just PULLED IN with his right input.
