I am maybe in the wrong thread but:
You are talking about safty and promoting it and that our standards’ should be higher and be something more like the OLD BOOK when there used to be order and logic ,requirements that you should be flying by.
I think people should also lead by example.....
You said that you only have 50 hours mountain flying and 150 ridge hours soaring and no SIV course. Do you honestly think (hand on your heart) that you should fly tandem? You have a very good aviation background, do you believe you are doing the safe thing here?
This letter is to a whole lot of other pilots too, which have very little or not enough experience and are taking the responsibility of other peoples life very light-hearted.
I got told by a few people not to bring it up as I have commercial interest in tandem flights but as my friend mister Riely says, I am not going to win a popularity competition here but I might save someone a lot of pain and sadness in the future and that is good enough .
Before you all start jumping up and down think hard about it and then answer me.
