Today Kamira Pereira flew about 320 km from Quixadá, Brazil, thus topping Petra Slivovas (nee Krausova) 302.9 km from 2006, also flown in Quixadá. Kamira flew a straight line to the west, while we watched her SPOT track. Winds were reported to be "too light" for a typical day in these windy flatlands, but thermals were nice and abundant. Kamira was accompanied by Marcelo Prieto, who is one of the most experienced pilots in this area. (Marcelo is one of the famous three Brazilians, who made 461 km also from Quixadá.)
Another world record for SOL and the Brazilians. Congratulations, Kamira!
